PotD #327 “Osprey at the Big Lagoon”
Today I went to Big Lagoon State Park with Darien, we fished for a little while, and when the sun started to go down we got out our cameras. We walked around for a while and I think we got some pretty good pictures. On our way out of the park, we saw a couple of osprey nests. This guy was perched on the nest and we decided to walk down a little closer. As we walked closer, a head popped out of the bushes. Turns out that he was a photographer from Mobile. We talked about photography for a bit. All in all it was a great day!
Potd #326 “Blue Hydrangea”
This Hydrangea is one of the prettiest I have ever seen. I guess it has something to do with the circle of white flowers surrounding the blue blooms in the middle.
PotD #325 “Tiniest Flowers”
I don’t know what these are, but they can be found all around right now. From a distance, they look like weeds, but up close they are quite pretty.
PotD #324 “Purple Pansy & Orange Snapdragons”
This spring my dad had a bunch of bright and colorful flowers in his flower bed. Since I NEVER EVER take pictures of flowers, I think I should post this one.
PotD #323 “Aubrey’s Easter Picture (A Bit Late)”
I was organizing my Aperture Library today and found Aubrey’s Easter pictures. I realized that I haven’t posted any of them yet, so I will grace you all with one of my favorites.
PotD #322 “Giant Coneflower”
Friday the lady from the county extension office was out planting some new flowers on our “Dayside Garden”. Today after work, I walked over to see what was new. I noticed some flashes of bright yellow. They had planted a bunch of Giant Cone Flower (Rudbeckia maxima) plants. There were a few more new plants but nothing looking especially beautiful, at least not as pretty as these.
PotD #321 “Memorial Day Storm Passing Through”
Yesterday was Memorial Day, but as always, I had to work. It wasn’t too bad though. On the way home, I went to pickup a pizza. Due north was a huge storm, a beautiful Cumulonimbus cloud, ascending into the heavens. I really wish that our land around here was a little more clear and flat, but I got a decent shot none the less.
PotD #320 “The Great Smoky Mountains from RT441″
Last April, my buddy Chris and went on a camping trip in the Smoky Mountains. On the drive up RT441, we stopped at a couple of lookouts. This was taken at the first pullover with a great view of the mountains. The trees weren’t quite green yet, but it was still beautiful.
PotD #319 “Bergen Hall (SCAD)”
About 5 years ago, I took a road trip to Savannah, GA with a couple of friends to take a tour of Savannah College of Art and Design. This is a shot of the stairwell in Bergen Hall, the building that the photo department is located. I really like their photography program, and I really wish that I could enroll, but with a wife and kid and another on the way, I would not be able to afford it. If any of you would like to donate a few (or 60) thousand dollars to help me along, I would gladly accept!
Also, sorry for the quality (or lack thereof). I shot this with a Nikon E4300. (It was the only camera I had back in 2004)
PotD #318 “Jenna Up Close”
This one is a bright and colorful picture for all of you with a dark and gloomy day (Like our wonderful weekend here in Pensacola). This is my cute little cousin Jenna.
