Soda Review #1: Zuberfizz Key Lime Cream Soda
Some people search the world for unique beers, or wines. I am not really a huge fan of either. Instead, I prefer unique and hard to find sodas. I’m not talking about the regular brands (Coke, Pepsi, etc.) that you can buy nearly anywhere. I’m talking about the regional, small scale soda companies. I realized tonight that I should document the sodas that I try and give my opinion of them. I will try to add at least one review a week when possible. If you know of any interesting regional sodas, please leave a comment and I will try to obtain a sample to review. So here goes my first soda review:

Zuberfizz Key Lime Cream Soda
Durango Soda Company, Inc.
Durango, Colorado
I love pie. One of my top 5 favorite pies is key lime. So naturally I got excited when I found this as I was headed to the check out at my local World Market. After checkout, and before I was out the door, I had popped the top and had my first taste. The first thing I noticed is how smooth and creamy it was. Most of the other cream sodas I have tried in the past are merely vanilla flavored sugar water, totally absent of any creamy texture. The sweetness of this soda was pleasantly low-key and natural, being made with pure cane sugar. The key lime flavor was well balanced without being overly tart or citrusy.
This is a soda that I will definitely be buying again, and I look forward to trying the other eight sodas from the Durango Soda Company.
